In October 2008, KWN students from George Dixon School had the privelige of interviewing the late Jill Balcon, then in her 85th year. She was in Birmingham as a guest of the city that evening at the first Into the Light event – the closing night of the Hello Digital Festival, which celebrated the life and career of her father, the Birmingham-born-and-bred film producer, Sir Michael Balcon. This film, completed by our students shortly before her death, was shown as part of a tribute evening at the second Into the Light event, in 2009.
