WHY STUDY BUSINESS?
Business understanding is important for all students. Those students who chose Business as an option gain much from this experience, and have the opportunity to study particular aspects of business in greater detail. ICT is an integral part of Business Education.
Business Studies is important to those who choose the subject because it will prepare them for different areas of study and future decisions, giving them the necessary skills for post 16 development
WHAT WILL I STUDY?
The study of business requires a co-operative, multi-disciplinary approach, where economic concepts, practical skills and the application of Information Technology are integrated in a relevant and meaningful context. The problem solving approach, research techniques, report writing, development of ideas, presentation skill and evaluation, all provide a more rounded student. In addition to this, the opportunity to develop ideas and activities based locally provides insight into the community, whilst addressing both the general and national issues.
Business Education gives students an opportunity to develop a critical awareness of how the local and wider community is organised, contributes to the development of enterprise and initiative and encourages a positive attitude to economic, social and technological change.
